PROCESS COMPARISONS

The investment casting process offers designers and engineers the greatest "design freedom" than does any other metal forming process.

When evaluating potential applications or methods of manufacture, the total cost - casting plus machining - must be considered, rather than just the initial casting cost. The investment cast design can include detail not offered by other processes and secondary machining costs can often be eliminated or reduced by utilizing the near-net-shape investment cast process.

O'Fallon Casting has historically had great success in converting "dip-brazed assemblies" and "welded assemblies" to the investment casting process.
